Ariana Grande visited Singapore for the regional launch of Wicked: For Good

Loyal supporters of the pop star are urging that a individual who breached a fence and seized the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good premiere be arrested or deported from Singapore.

A circulating clip shows the Australian man bypassing photographers and rushing toward Grande while the actors made its way down a promenade surrounded by onlookers.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the premiere by guards.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being detained", though official papers showed that he was due to be present on the following morning. It is not clear if he was formally accused.

History of Disruptions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram profile features videos of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney concert in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the city last December.

"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is clearly a legal violation," stated an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user questioned.

Fans Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Safety

Numerous followers accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the finale of her 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented one more comment on Instagram.

A number of attendees also questioned guards at the premiere for not being sufficiently alert; while some demanded online networks to ban Mr Wen's uploads.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In clips circulating online, Grande looked surprised when she was touched by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by staff.

Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.

Hundreds of Singapore attendees had waited to greet the cast of Wicked

Many of attendees had assembled in a crowd of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore shopping center, including some who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it began.

The movie, to be released on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-film version of the acclaimed Broadway and West End show Wicked, which focuses on the surprising bond between two distinct characters.

The production itself is a derivative of the classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of 2024 in the UK, and received a dozen award recognitions, securing two for best costume and production design.
